About us
ONJ launched itself into business in the 1980s as a broker in launches. It then purchased a mould of a lifeboat that was at one time manufactured by the Mulder & Rijke yard, a company that only built for professional use. This first launch to be built was the ONJ 650, which is still a very popular boat today.

Because of their no-nonsense character and reliable finishing, the ONJ launches quickly built a name for themselves and demand for a larger boat grew. The ONJ Pilot 760 was the response, soon followed by the Pilot 770.
The Pilot 770 is based on vessels used for professional purposes by the Department of Waterways and Public Works, pilot companies, harbour services, police and emergency organisations. The ONJ Pilot was also derived from a Mulder & Rijke design.
Building boats for these types of users means they must meet the highest quality standards. All models are thoroughly tested for sailing performance, practicality and sustainability in all circumstances.

In 1997, we started manufacturing the Workboat 760 so as to meet the demand for boats in between an open launch and a fully closed Pilot. These sturdy workboats were based on the hull of the Pilot. Reflecting ONJ’s commitment to premium quality, the Workboat 760 has since been improved on many points, and led to the 770 series.
Around 2000, we started thinking about building a larger boat than the Pilot 770. Top of the agenda was giving owners more space to enjoy longer periods on the water. After a period of R&D, the first Pilot 1020 was launched in the summer of 2002.

It was an unmistakable ONJ with the familiar no-nonsense character, built for practical use and sustainability in all circumstances. And in 2003 it won the prestigious "Motorboat of the Year" award at the HISWA show. Based on this Pilot 1020, we developed the Pilot 1020 Open in 2004.
In the near future, ONJ will launch a number of new models of the Pilot 920 with an entirely new design, positioned between the 770 and the 1020.
ONJ is located on the Vecht river in Weesp, the Netherlands. The company will continue developing timeless boats that radiate a superior level of class and meet the highest quality requirements.
